This photo is of the southeastern-most point of Texas where the Rio Grande River meets the Gulf of Mexico. We drove to Boca Chica point where the pavement ends on the beach, turned right (south) and drove on the sand for about 3 miles to the mouth of the Rio Grande River. There were a lot of people on the beach fishing the Gulf waters with super-long poles in spite of the strong, chilly wind. Over on the Mexican side, people were mainly fishing the river with throw nets (not legal in Texas) and wading out into the water. What is cold when a fish dinner awaits!
